Topological Modular Forms of Level 3

We describe and compute the homotopy of spectra of topological modular forms of level 3. We give some computations related to the “building complex” associated to level 3 structures at the prime 2. Finally, we note the existence of a number of connective models of the spectrum TMF(Γ0(3)).

Topological modular forms with level structure

The cohomology theory known as Tmf, for “topological modular forms,” is a universal object mapping out to elliptic cohomology theories, and its coefficient ring is closely connected to the classical ring of modular forms. We extend this to a functorial family of objects corresponding to elliptic curves with level structure and modular forms on them. Along the way, we produce a natural way to re...

Topological Strings and (Almost) Modular Forms

The B-model topological string theory on a Calabi-Yau threefold X has a symmetry group Γ, generated by monodromies of the periods ofX . This acts on the topological string wave function in a natural way, governed by the quantum mechanics of the phase space H(X). We show that, depending on the choice of polarization, the genus g topological string amplitude is either a holomorphic quasi-modular ...

Conformal Nets and Topological Modular Forms

Project Summary: Some mathematical notions can be described in both algebraic and geometric ways. The geometric descriptions are sometimes richer and can reveal hidden symmetries. K-theory is an example of a theory that has both and algebraic and geometric description. It links algebraic topology with geometry on curved spaces, to the mutual benefit of both disciplines. We believe that the noti...

Level-one elliptic modular forms

[1] Traditional terminology is that f → f |2kγ is the slash operator, although this name fails to suggest any meaning other than reference to the notation itself. In fact, obviously f(z)→ f(γz)(cz + d)−2k is a left translation operator, albeit complicated by the automorphy factor. That is, this is a right action of SL2(Z) on functions on H, while the group action of SL2(Z) on H is written on th...
